The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has officially commenced the issuance of the first batch of Offer of Provisional Allocations to subscribers under the National Housing Programme (NHP).
A statement issued in Abuja on Monday by the Ministryโs Director of Press and Public Relations, Salisu Badamasi Haiba, quoted the ministryโs Permanent Secretary, Dr. Marcus Ogunbiyi, as saying that the process, which began in April 2024, follows a review of the sale conditions and procedures for NHP houses outlined in a circular dated December 29, 2023.
Ogunbiyi said that while many outright payment subscribers have finalized their payments, some have only made partial payments and are yet to complete the process.
He said in response, the Ministry had granted a grace period of eight weeks for those still pending, adding that the validity period for completing all payments is 90 days from the initial offer.
The permanent secretary said subscribers who do not fulfill their payment obligations within this extended timeframe risk having their provisional allocation offer revoked.
โ By this information, the ministry is informing all the 1st batch Outright Subscribers who are yet to complete their payments for the houses offered to them, that a grace of eight (8) weeks is now given to them within which they are advised to complete all their payments, โ he said.
