Fish Out Perpetrators Responsible For Attack On Ajaka – Kogi Govt To Law Enforcement Agencies

The Kogi State Government has condemned the attack on the Social Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in the state, Muritala Ajaka, at the Supreme Court.

Recall that Ajaka was attacked by suspected hoodlums shortly after the court declared Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the duly elected Governor of the state.

The SDP candidate was beaten and pelted with water even as his team struggled to guide him to escape.

Reacting to the development via a statement issued on Sunday by the state Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, the state government described the attack as “unwarranted” and should not have happened.

Ododo described the conduct of the hoodlums as “barbaric, uncivilised and a grave danger to the institution of justice.”

He urged Nigerians to eschew self-help.

As a government, we implore the law enforcement agencies to fish out the perpetrators and make them face the full wrath of the law to serve as a deterrent to others as well as protect the integrity and safety of our court environments across the country.

“We urge all Nigerians to support the path of constitutionalism and unity, which are the core values of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. We all must support his lofty policies and values for the progress and development of our dear nation,” he said.
