FULHAM manager Marco Silva is confident going into the English Premier League season opener against Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow night.
The new season will kick off at the Theatre of Dreams with Silva and his players, including Nigerian pair Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, hoping for a repeat of last seasonโs 2-1 victory there.
Both Super Eagles stars scored in the Fulham victory in February, with Bassey getting the opening goal and Iwobi striking a 97th minute winner after Harry Maguireโs late equaliser.
โOf course the players have been speaking about it, because the last two seasons, every time we play against Man United the game has been decided by small margins,โ Silva said during his pre-match press conference today.
โTwo or three times against us, they have scored late goals to win games. Iโm excited to be at Old Trafford, itโs always good to start there.
โThe environment is going to be very good. Theyโll want to start on the front foot but they know what we are capable of doing.
โEvery time we play against them, letโs hope we can repeat the same type of performance that we have been showing against them over the last two seasons.โ
The match with kick off at 8pm, with more fixtures billed for Saturday and Sunday on the opening weekend.
