Gombe: 1,850 Prospective Corps Members To Participate In Batch B Orientation

The National Youth Service Corps(NYC) announced that 1,850 prospective corps members will be participating in the 2024 Batch “B” Stream II orientation course in Gombe State on Wednesday.

A statement signed by the Head of the Public Relations Unit, Jennifer Laha, on behalf of the State Coordinator, Chinwe Nwachuku, the exercise will be held at the temporary orientation camp in Amada, Akko Local Government Area of the state.

“In Gombe State, the programme is scheduled to take place at the NYSC temporary orientation camp, Government Science Technical College, Amada, Akko Local Government Area, with a total of 1,850 prospective corps members deployed to the state,” it said.

It added that the formal opening and swearing-in ceremony will take place on Friday, 30th August 2024, at 10:00 am, with the governor of the state, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya presiding over the event.

“The Executive Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON, is expected to preside over the event, while the Chief Judge of Gombe State, Justice Halima Mohammed, will administer the Oath of Allegiance to the corps members deployed to the state for national service,” it said.

The statement urged residents and the host community to provide the necessary assistance for the new corps members.

“Prospective corps members are to be aware that registration will commence on Wednesday, 28th August, and continue through to Friday, 30th August 2024, with the cut-off at midnight on Friday, 30th August 2024.

“As usual, we encourage the peace-loving people of Gombe State, especially those in and around Akko LGA and its environs, to extend the customary hospitality and peaceful coexistence for which Gombe State is renowned,” the statement added.
