The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Adedapo Oluseun Abiodun has handed over the Certificate of Occupation to the Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla at the Naval Headquarters in Abuja.
The Governor handed over the certificate on Friday to the Chief of Naval Staff.
Speaking during the visit, the governor disclosed that the State has recently allocated 100 hectares of land at for the construction of a Naval Dockyard and Naval Base for the protection of the industrial image of the state
While handing over the C of O and other documents related to the property, Abiodun emphasised that the industrial nature of Ogun State has necessitated the strong presence of the Naval Armed Forces to enable both local and foreign investors regain confidence in the Nigerian economy
โWe are the gateway state to Nigeria by geography and by providence. Because of our location, we are also the industrial capital of Nigeria
He commended the efforts of the Navy and other sister agencies for their efforts in making Ogun state one of the most peaceful states,adding that his administration is ready to provide more support and seeks to spread their security architecture with the Naval Force.
โToday, Ogun State is ranked as one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria and I must thank our law enforcement agencies who have made that possible. We will continue to give them the required support that they need.
โThis our lofty vision will be outrightly impossible to achieve in an atmosphere of insecurityโ the governor stated.
In response, the Chief of Naval Staff, Ogalla commended the governor for his proposal towards the development of Ogun state geared towards economic activities.
โThe governor proposed Olokola LNG and Olokola sea port and also the declaration of Tongeji Island as a free exploration zone. These are investments that will attract a minimum of 10 billion dollars to the Nigerian economy
โAs part of our role, it is our duty to ensure that we fulfil this aspect which is provision of security in order for investors to have confidence investing in this area.
