Insecurity: Unical Cancels Post-UTME, Adopts O’Level Point Grading For 2024 Admission

The University of Calabar has announced its plan to use O’level point tally system for the purpose of 2024/2025 admission instead of the normal Post-UTME.

A statement by the institution’s Registrar, Gabriel O Egbe, stated that the reason for the cancellation of the Post-UTME was due to insecurity situation in the country.

He also stated that other factors include the high cost of transportation occasioned by fuel scarcity in the country, accommodation and logistics.

The institution noted that the Post-UTME slated for August 26, 2024, will no longer hold as scheduled.

The registrar, however, urged all candidates who chose the University of Calabar as their first choice institution and have registered online for the 2024 Post-UTME screening exercise, to visit the nearest JAMB-CBT centre to upload their O’level results.

He noted that the university will score all candidates based on their O’level grades, using the point tally system for the purpose of 2024/2025 admissions.
