SUPER Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has extended his stay at Udinese until 2028, the club confirmed today.
The Nigeria international, 24, became the Serie A club’s first choice midway into last season and has held the position down with consistently impressive performances.
“Still together, more than before.
Udinese Calcio and Maduka Okoye have renewed the contract that will see the Nigerian goalkeeper tied to the black and white club until June 30, 2028,” the club announced on their official website today.
“A new agreement for one of the certainties of the squad that is further tied to Udinese.
“Maduka, who arrived in Friuli in the summer of 2023, earned himself a leading role over the past season, demonstrating a high standard of performance that has made him one of the best performing goalkeepers in the championship.
“His renewal demonstrates his and the Club’s desire to continue the journey together with renewed enthusiasm and ambition.”
Okoye, who has 16 Super Eagles caps, made 21 appearances for Udinese in Serie A last season, conceding 25 goals and keeping five clean sheets.
He was in goal on Sunday as they opened the new campaign with a 1-1 draw at Bologna.
