Abia State Governor Dr Alex Otti has offered scholarship up to University level to the six Children of the late inspector Shehu Oyibo killed by unknown gunmen during an attack on police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad in Aba,while on patrol along Ngwa road by Mosque junction, Aba on Sunday 21st June 2024.
The Governor who paid a condolence visit to the Office of the Commander of the RSS in Aba on Thursday commiserated with the widow of the deceased officer and assured the family that the State Government won’t abandon them.
Recall that the gunmen who operated in a Toyota Sienna bus at Mosque street by Ngwa road, were said to have opened fire on sighting the police team in the area.
However, the police team repelled the attack. In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, three civilians identified as Chika Godliveth, Onyeaturuchi Jonah and Eniobong God’sgift Clement, were killed by stray bullets.
