THE police in Spain have arrested three suspects and are on the trail of a fourth in relation to a stabbing incident that involved the father of Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal.
Mounir Nasraoui, Yamal’s father, was stabbed multiple times in a park last night in Barcelona while walking his dog home.
After being rushed to hospital, he was discharged the same night, and is believed to be in relatively good health.
The father of the 17-year-old Euro 2024 winner with Spain was walking his dog in his hometown of Mataro, north of Barcelona, when he reportedly had water thrown over him, and an argument with an unidentified group.
Subsequently, this ended up with the defenceless Nasraoui being attacked with a knife, Football Espana reported.
Cadena Cope added today that three people have been arrested in connection with the incident, and police are still searching for a fourth assailant.
Lamine Yamal was one of the stars of Spain’s triumph at the Euro 2024 European Championship in Germany last month.
It is unclear if he will be able to feature for Barcelona this weekend. The Catalans begin their 2024/2025 LaLiga campaign on Saturday when they face Valencia at the Mestalla.
