Remo Stars’ journey in the CAF Champions League has come to an end following a 2-0 defeat to Moroccan side FAR Rabat on Sunday.
The match, which was held in Morocco, saw a goalless first half that kept the Nigerian side hopeful of advancing to the next round.
However, those hopes were dashed in the second half when FAR Rabat broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute. The home team later sealed their victory with a penalty in the 80th minute, leaving Remo Stars with no chance of a comeback.
The defeat marks the end of Remo Stars’ campaign in this year’s CAF Champions League, as FAR Rabat progress to the next stage of the competition.
Despite a valiant effort, the Nigerian side could not find the back of the net, leading to their exit from the prestigious tournament.
Remo Stars will now have to regroup and focus on their domestic league as they look to build on the experience gained from their continental outing.
