Rivers Health Commissioner debunks School of Nursing Admission Rumour

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, has debunked an online advertorial claiming to sell admission forms for the Rivers State School of Nursing 2024/2025 session.

The Commissioner described the publication as a “desperate attempt by mischief makers to defraud the general public.” and should be disregarded.

The Commissioner said the warning comes as unsuspecting individuals may fall victim to the scam, parting with their hard-earned money in the process.

She said the Ministry of Health has not authorized any sale of admission forms for the 2024/2025 session, and the public is advised to be cautious of such fraudulent activities.

Oreh, who issued a statement to correct misinformation circulating on social media regarding the admission process for the State College of Nursing Sciences pointed out that the School of Nursing has been upgraded to College of Nursing Sciences, requiring candidates to pass through JAMB starting from 2025.

She said there is no ongoing sale of nursing and midwifery forms for the 2024/2025 session.

The Commissioner clarified that Publications on social media platforms claiming otherwise are false and did not emanate from the Ministry of Health.

She added that enquiries about admission should be directed to the Director of Nursing Services, Ministry of Health, Block A, 4TH Floor State Secretariat Complex.

However, the Ministry advises interested candidates to wait for the 2025 JAMB enrollment for admission into the Rivers State College of Nursing Sciences and disregards the fraudulent social media publications as “unfounded, untrue, misleading, fraudulent, and mischievous”.
