Super Falcons midfielder joins Fenerbahçe SK on a two-year deal

Versatile Super Falcons midfielder, Regina Otu, has joined Turkish side, Fenerbahçe SK on a two-year deal, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old central midfielder joins the Black and Yellow striped team on a free deal after her contract with French side, AS Saint Ettienne expired.

She started all twenty of the Club’s league games last term, scoring just one goal. Following the expiration of her contract, she left the club alongside her teammates –  Yewande Balogun and Amanda Mbadi (who now plays for RCD Espanyol Femení).

Via the club’s official website, Fenerbahçe SK confirmed Otu put pen to paper, signing a two-year deal.

“Welcome to our club. We wish you many successes with our striped jersey,” the post read.

She was a part of the four alternate players selected by Coach Randy Waldrum for the Paris 2024 Olympics but the Super Falcons failed to grab any points in France, exiting at the group stage.

Regina Otu was a part of the Nigerian team that played in the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco. She has a total of five Super Falcons to her name. South Africa were the winners of that edition as Nigeria fell out at the Semi-final stage.
