Tension As Armed Bandits Open Fire On Fulani Herdsmen

Two herders were killed, and numerous cows and sheep were stolen when bandits attacked a herders’ camp in Kurutu village, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The attack took place on Sunday around 5 p.m.

Shehu Aliyu, a resident of nearby Azzara village, reported that the bandits opened fire when two herders attempted to defend their livestock. “The herders tried to protect their animals, but the bandits were armed and overpowered them, leading to the tragic loss of lives,” Aliyu recounted.

A community leader, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the incident, noting that the herders were killed during the confrontation. “The bandits not only took the lives of the herders but also stole several cows and sheep, leaving the community devastated,” he said.

The incident has raised alarm over the security situation in the area, with residents urging authorities to take immediate action to prevent further attacks.
