Renowned Nigerian music director and cinematographer, ThankGod Omori Smith, fondly called TG Omori or Boy Director, has disclosed that his only brother recently donated a kidney to him.
TG Omori shared this on the 27th of August, 2024, while discussing his health challenges.
In a now-viral post on his official X account, TG Omori revealed that the kidney transplant occurred on Monday, 26th of August, 2024.
“Yesterday my only brother gave me one of his kidneys so I could live again,” he wrote.
He also took to his Instagram story to share photos of himself on a hospital bed, receiving oxygen.
Captioning the pictures, he wrote: “keep my spirit alive. I don’t wanna die.”
However, the director, in a statement shared on his X handle on the 28th of August, 2024, sadly revealed that the surgery was unsuccessful.
He urged his fans to pray for him as he continues to battle a kidney ailment, which he disclosed began last year when his kidney was damaged.
“One year after my kidney crashed I just had a failed transplant at St Nicholas Lagos. Pray for me,” he said.
