PRESIDENT Tinubu has enacted a bill that calls for a 300% increase in the salaries and allowances of judicial officials.
This information was revealed in a statement today by Basheer Lado, the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters.
Lado emphasized that this action reflects Tinubu’s dedication to prioritizing “the welfare of Nigerian workers above all else.”
“This remarkable decision highlights the President’s unwavering focus on the well-being of Nigerian workers, similar to when he recently paused an ongoing Federal Executive Council meeting to approve the new National Minimum Wage Bill of N70,000,” he stated.
The aide explained that the new legislation “specifies salaries, allowances, and other benefits for judicial officers to align with current realities, thereby amending the Certain Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act, No. 6, 2002 (as amended) to remove the clauses related to judicial office holders.”
He added, “This involves the amendment of the Certain Political, Public, and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act, No. 6, 2002 (as amended), which will eliminate the provisions concerning Judicial Office Holders from the aforementioned Act.”
Lado remarked, “In demonstrating his visionary leadership and deep concern for the Nigerian populace, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCON has once again confirmed his steadfast commitment to the welfare of the nation’s workforce by approving the updated Salaries and Allowances for Judicial Office Holders.”
“This historic decision illustrates the President’s deep dedication to ensuring that every salary earner in Nigeria, particularly those in essential and strategic roles, receives the recognition and compensation they rightfully deserve.
“By focusing on the financial well-being of our judicial officers, Mr. President is not only bolstering the integrity of our justice system but also establishing a new benchmark for leadership that genuinely values the hard work and sacrifices made by all Nigerian workers.

The Senate had approved the bill in June following its third reading. Lado stated that this action demonstrates “their patriotic commitment to progressively enhancing the welfare of Nigerians.”
He expressed gratitude to the National Assembly for “prioritizing the welfare of Nigerians by passing and transmitting the executive Bill.”
“The judiciary symbolizes the hope of the common man, and it is anticipated that Nigerians seeking justice will receive it regardless of their social status,” he added.
