The Kano State Police Command has apprehended two individuals suspected of stealing the sign post of Bachirawa Police Station, located in the Ungogo Local Government Area of the state.
According to the spokesperson for the state police command, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the suspects were arrested with the assistance of local residents.
SP Kiyawa shared the news on Facebook on Wednesday, expressing gratitude to the community for their support.
His message, originally written in Hausa and translated into English, stated: “The person who stole Bachirawa Police Station (sign post) and the person who collected it are working hand-in-hand. Residents of the neighbourhood have brought up a new sign post.”
SP Kiyawa further extended the police command’s appreciation to the people of Bachirawa for their prompt action in replacing the stolen sign post and assisting in the apprehension of the culprits.
“We are grateful to the people of Bachirawa,” he added, acknowledging the community’s cooperation in maintaining security and order in the area.
