Elder Statesman, Edwin Clark, has said the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is using the name of President Bola Tinubu to intimidate people especially the Rivers State governor, Sim Fubara.
Clark who was speaking in Abuja on Tuesday said he’s sending another letter, which will make three letters in 2024 that he would be writing to the acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amb. Umar Damagum, saying Wike has been warned to steer clear of Rivers issue or be consumed.
Clark said he has warned Wike to stop harassing Fubara, as he will not fold his arms and watch things degenerate in Rivers state.
He said that Wike must leave PDP for the party to survive.
“This is the third letter I am writing to the PDP National Chairman and if they don’t stop meddling in Rivers issue, it will consume Damagum and Wike. Wike must leave PDP for the party to survive,” he said.
The elder statesman, who revealed that he is writing a book titled “PDP: To Be or Not to Be,” pointed out that after criticising former Governors Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), and Ben Ayade (Cross River) for defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the FCT minister is now “dancing naked” with the same ruling party.
“After conceding that former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili and his wife made him what he is today and for which he will forever be grateful, he is now abusing them. I won’t allow him to destroy Rivers State,” Clark declared.
He alleged that having failed to use the APC to disrupt the PDP, Wike is now using the party itself.
