ACF Support Crucial To Tinubu’s War On Insecurity – Kwankwaso – Independent Newspaper Nigeria
KANO – A stunch member of All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji ( Dr) Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso, on Sunday called on ACF to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his effort at taming insecurity bedeviling the country.
Kwankwaso who spoke in Kano at a press conference stated that the recent onslaught on bandits have caused sleeplessness night in naighbouring country, especially Niger and Chad republics, stressing that most of the criminals have fled areas hitherto dominated.
It will be recalled that the ACF recommended that insecurity must end in the north, approach to the fight against terrorists needs unconventional methods, moral crises in the region be addressed and that methods like the JTF used in the north be used in fighting insecurity.
Kwankwaso, however made reference to the achievements recently announced by the Chief of Defense Staff, Christopher Musa, that 152 terrorists have been killed, 109 arrested and 91 persons held ransom freed, in Katsina and Kaduna states following the relocation of his team to Sokoto as an achievement.
He hinted that the attacked on the bandits, which have forced many of them to abandoned areas of operations has forced the affected neighbouring countries to be raising alarm and tasking their military on the need to checkmating them
.
According to him” The recent effort by the regime in which the Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle and the Chief of Defense Staff Christopher Musa have taken a big leap that is ripping a lot in the fight against insecurity.”
He therefore advised that “We from the north should rally around Mr President to ensure this move is successful because there is light at the end of the tunnel from what we are seeing” he stated.”
Kwankwaso disclosed that the efforts of the Tinubu’s fight against terrorism is seen in the fact that the Niger authorities are are considering taking measures of guarding their boarders with Nigeria to stop the inflow of terrorist as they are bursted in Nigeria.
The APC stalwart added that”Just of recent, some security analysts in Niger are putting pressure on the government to protect their boarders to stop any possible inflow of the terrorists to their country from Nigeria.
“They see this as very necessary in order not to allow the terrorists form new dens in their country as they are chased out of Nigeria.
“This is enough reason for the ACF to support the current fight against insecurity because it is already having impact and there is fear that they are even running out of the country” he added.
