ADEMOLA Lookman starred with a goal and an assist for Atalanta on his Serie A return as they secured a 3-2 comeback victory over Fiorentina.
The Super Eagles forward was making his first Serie A appearance of the season for Atalanta and he made it count spectacularly.
Lucas Martinez Quarta gave visitors Fiorentina a 15th minute lead at the Gewiss Stadium, but Lookman served up a gorgeous cross for Mateo Retegui to equalise six minutes later.
Italy striker Moise Kean got Fiorentina back in front in the 32nd minute, with Charles De Ketelaere grabbing the second equaliser in the 45th minute.
One minute later, in first-half added time, Lookman struck what turned out to be a brilliant winning goal.
The Nigeria international received the ball down the left side, skipped past his first marker and beat two other players inside the box before firing a low shot into the near post past former Manchester United goalkeeper Davie de Gea.
Lookman has been in fine form this season for club and country.
He was one of the best players in his only previous Atalanta appearance of the campaign, the UEFA Super Cup clash against Real Madrid, and scored twice in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda in the September international break.
