Agbese Reaffirms Abbas’ Leadership, Commends Unity in House Of Representatives – Independent Newspaper Nigeria
ABUJA – The Deputy Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Hon. Philip Agbese, has reaffirmed the strong and unifying leadership of Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, emphasizing the Speaker’s commitment to effective governance.
Speaking to journalists at the National Assembly in Abuja on Wednesday, Agbese noted that members of the House have resolved to stand united behind the Speaker, working together to move the country forward, even during the legislative recess.
Agbese highlighted the positive relationship between the leadership and members of the House, stating that it remains cordial, contrary to speculation from certain quarters.
He commended Speaker Abbas for justifying the confidence reposed in him by his colleagues, noting that attempts to sow division in the House would not succeed.

According to him, “The Speaker has done everything to justify the confidence of all the members. We are not unmindful of those trying to polarize the House, but their efforts will be futile.”
He also praised Abbas’ leadership style, which he described as guided by fairness, equity, and transparency. According to him, these principles have helped unite the 10th House of Representatives and foster a sense of shared purpose among its members.
“In justifying the principle of ‘primus inter pares,’ one must be guided by fairness, equity, and transparency. These are the tools that Mr. Speaker has deployed to ensure unity and to lead by example,” Agbese stated.
He further lauded Speaker Abbas for demonstrating a “revolutionary spirit” and patriotism, adding that members would continue to rally around him in support of his vision for the country.
“Abbas has demonstrated the revolutionary spirit of a true Nigerian patriot, and from all indications, the House is solidly behind him. We will continue to work as one to achieve his vision for a greater Nigeria,” Agbese concluded.
