THE governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has approved the appointment of Haruna Danyaya as the 17th Emir of Ningi, promoting him to the status of a first-class traditional ruler.
The announcement was made today via a letter signed by Ibrahim Kashim, the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government.
The governor expressed his confidence in the new Emirโs ability to uphold and build upon the legacy of his late father.
โWe believe that Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya will continue the noble work of his predecessor in promoting unity, peace, and development in the Ningi Emirate and across Bauchi State,โ he said.
The governor also extended his condolences on the passing of the former Emir and warmly congratulated the new Emir.
โI pray for the peaceful repose of the late Emirโs soul and wish the new Emir a long, healthy, and successful reign,โ he added.
Haruna Yunusa Danyaya, born in Ningi in 1956, previously served as the Chairman of Ningi.
The Bauchi State Government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting traditional institutions as essential pillars in maintaining peace and progress within the state.
