Augustine Eguavoen has stepped aside from his role as the interim coach of Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, according to a report by OwnGoalNigeria.
Eguavoen, who also serves as the technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), clarified that his assignment was for just two matches. He was appointed after efforts to secure a permanent head coach for the team were unsuccessful.
During his short stint, Eguavoen led the Super Eagles in two crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against the Benin Republic and Rwanda.
