The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that Augustine Eguavoen will continue as head coach of the Super Eagles. The decision, endorsed by the Executive Committee of the NFF on Thursday, follows the recommendation of the Federationโ€™s Technical and Development Sub-Committee.

Eguavoen, 58, will lead the Nigerian national team in their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Libya, scheduled for next month. This comes after he successfully guided the three-time African champions to a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and a goalless draw with Rwanda in their first two qualifying games.

In his fourth stint as head coach, Eguavoen will be supported by a technical crew consisting of Fidelis Ilechukwu, Daniel Ogunmodede, Olatunji Baruwa, and Tomaz Zorec. The team will also oversee the Super Eagles B squad as they prepare for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

Eguavoenโ€™s experience and tactical approach will be crucial as Nigeria aims to secure a place in the 2025 AFCON tournament while simultaneously developing the B team for the CHAN competition.
