ACTRESS Ekene Umenwa and her husband, Ifeanyi Ogbodo Alex, have joyfully welcomed their first child together. The actress announced the happy news on Monday in a heartfelt Instagram post.
Umenwa shared a series of stunning pregnancy photoshoot images to commemorate this special occasion.
Inspired by a personal vision, she chose to dress as the Virgin Mary, a revered figure in Christianity.
In the accompanying caption, Umenwa expressed her gratitude for the experience and her deep reverence for Mother Mary. “The Lord’s mercies truly bless me,” she wrote.
“My pregnancy was a wonderful journey, and I give thanks to the Holy Trinity and honour to our Mother Mary, who stood by me throughout.”
Reflecting on the inspiration behind her photoshoot, Umenwa explained, “In my humble attempt to honour her maternal care and intercession, I was inspired by a vision she gave while praying at the grotto.”
“It brings me immense joy to be able to dress as Mother Mary, whom I hold dear,” she continued. “Although I feel unworthy to stand in her presence, her mercy has touched me deeply.”
