Popular cinematographer and music producer ThankGod Omori, fondly called TG Omori, has responded to claims that his peers in the music industry failed to offer financial support during his health crisis.
Omori, who has been battling kidney disease, underwent a transplant on the 26th of August, 2024, at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos.
Despite undergoing three surgeries, Omori disclosed that the transplant was unsuccessful.
However, controversy arose on the 1st of September, 2024, when singer Portable criticised celebrities for not contributing to Omori’s treatment, contrasting it with the donations made to Bobrisky, who was jailed for currency abuse.
Portable described the unity within the music industry as “fake.”
“TG Omori has a kidney problem and celebrities are not donating money or kidneys for him.
“But Victor Osimhen and others donated money for Bobrisky who has no value. The industry is full of fake love,” he said.
In response to the claims, TG Omori, via his X handle on the 1st of September 2024, revealed that he had received support from industry colleagues and friends even before his health issues became public.
“All I needed was your prayers, moral support, and love. This I am grateful to have gotten in abundance.
“The industry and friends have been solidly behind me months before it all came public. Please ignore the clout-desperate dogs,” he said.
