The Gombe State Government on Monday donated some foodstuff to Batch B stream II corps members currently undergoing the three-week orientation course in Amada, Akko Local Government Area of the state.
The foodstuffs include bags of rice, gallons of oils and bags of other grains.
A press statement signed by the Information Officer Secretary to the Government of the State office, Joshua Danmalam, stated that the donation is to augment the feeding of corps members.
โThe donation is to argument the feeding of corps members at the camp and cushion the effect of the rising cost of food item,โ the governor stated in the statement.
The statement noted that the governor, Inuwa Yahaya was represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Adamu Inuwa during the presentation
The governor urged the corps members to feel at home as the people of the state are hospitable.
Receiving the items at the temporary orientation camp, the State Coordinator of NYSC, Chinwe Nwachukwu, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the governor for his kindness and generosity.
Nwachukwu assured that she would brief the Director-General and senior management of the scheme on the Governorโs unwavering enthusiasm and unrelenting support for the NYSC.
