Houthi Rebels Claim Responsibility For Ballistic Missile Attack On Tel Aviv

The Houthi rebels from Yemen have claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile attack on Tel Aviv, Israel. The attack occurred early this morning, with the missile striking a target close to Ben Gurion Airport.

According to a statement released by the Houthisโ€™ spokesman, the missile was a new hypersonic ballistic missile that successfully penetrated Israelโ€™s multi-layered air defense system.

โ€œThe enemyโ€™s defenses failed to intercept and counter it. The missile traveled a distance of approximately 2,040 km in 11 and a half minutes, causing fear and panic among the zionists, with more than two million zionists rushing to shelters for the first time in the history of the โ€˜israeliโ€™ enemy,โ€ the statement claimed.

Nine people were injured as they ran to shelters, after air raid sirens sounded in central Israel Sunday morning. Footage circulating in the media shows injuries caused by fragments of the interceptor missiles.

Responding to the attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Yemenโ€™s Iran-backed Houthi rebels, who claimed responsibility for the attack, will exact โ€œa heavy price for any attempt to harm us.โ€

โ€œAnyone who attacks us will not escape from our arms,โ€ he said during a cabinet meeting on Sunday.

This is the first time that an Iranian-made hypersonic missile has been used in an attack on Israel.

With the recent attack on Central Israel, Yemen becomes the first. country to launch a drone strike and a ballistic missile attack on Tel-Aviv.

The attack evaded every countryโ€™s defense systems, fighter jets, jamming systems, and over airspace of allies KSA and Jordan without being detected or shot down.
