Contentious activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has pushed back against claims that he defamed prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana and his son, rapper Falz.
Recall that Falz and his Dad had issued a 24-hour ultimatum, urging VeryDarkMan to retract his statements, which implied their involvement in securing a lenient outcome for the notorious cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, alias Bobrisky, during his recent legal troubles.
Bobrisky, who was handed a three-month jail term for naira mutilation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), was released on the 5th of August 2024.
However, the saga took a new turn on the 24th of September, 2024, when VeryDarkMan leaked an alleged voice recording of Bobrisky.
In the audio, Bobrisky purportedly claimed that Femi Falana and Falz influenced the EFCC to drop money laundering charges against him.
In a swift response, Falana & Falana’s Chambers issued separate statements on behalf of the senior lawyer and the rapper, categorically denying the allegations and demanding an immediate retraction and a public apology to be issued on all platforms within 24 hours.
