The Board of Directors of Julius Berger Plc has announced the appointment of Engr. Peer Lubasch as the Managing Director of the Company.
The company in a notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) seen by NewsNGR noted that the appointment which is in line with the succession plan for the Executive Management takes effect from October 16, 2024.
The appointments follow the resignation of Engr. Lars Richter as Director and Managing Director of the Company at the expiration of his contract of employment on October 15, 2024.
The statement reads: “Further to the Notice of Board Meeting of September 23, 2024, wherein Julius Berger notified the public that the Board of Directors of the Company will meet to consider leadership needs for the Julius Berger Group, the Company would like to inform the public that the meeting held on September 25, 2024, as scheduled and the following decisions were taken:
“The resignation of Engr. Lars Richter as Director and Managing Director of the Company at the expiration of his contract of employment on October 15, 2024, was accepted; Engr. Peer Lubasch, in line with the succession plan for the Executive Management, was appointed as a Director, and the Managing Director of the Company with effect from October 16, 2024”.
According to the statement signed by the Company Secretary, Mrs. Cecilia Madueke, Peer Lubasch, a German national, holds a doctorate degree in Civil Engineering from the University in Duisburg-Essen, Germany.
He is registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
He joined Julius Berger in the year 2010 as Technical Manager and thereafter held various positions in the Julius Berger Group in Germany and Nigeria culminating in his appointment as Managing Director /CEO of Julius Berger International GmbH in 2022.
He was reassigned to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc and appointed to the Board of the Julius Berger Nigeria Plc with effect from October 16, 2024, as the Managing Director.
