The management of the Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited (MESL), operators of the Kainji, Jebba, and Zungeru hydropower plants, has donated N100M to victims of the recent Maiduguri flood to aid their recovery efforts.

The MESLโ€™s Managing Director, Engr. Lamu Audu and Executive Director for Corporate Services, Usman Muhammad Umar, presented the cheque to the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, during a visit to the government house in Maiduguri.

A statement issued on Saturday by the companyโ€™s Head of Communications, Olugbenga Adebola, quoted Audu as expressing the companyโ€™s condolences for the loss of lives and property caused by the flooding.

โ€œWe are acutely aware of the magnitude of this disaster and share in the grief of the people of Maiduguri. We stand with them during this challenging time,โ€ he stated.

He emphasised the importance of collective efforts in rebuilding the community and acknowledged the extensive resources required for recovery.

Audu added: โ€œThis heartbreaking event has caused immense pain and hardship. Please accept our heartfelt sympathies along with this donation.

โ€œOur prayers are with the people of Maiduguri, and we are all in this together.
Please accept our heartfelt sympathies and the token of 100 million naira onlyโ€.

Responding, Zulum expressed his gratitude for the generous donation, highlighting the devastating impact of the floods on the stateโ€™s socio-economic activities.
