The National Youth Service Corps has deployed 2,615 Batch B (Stream II) corps members to rural areas in Kaduna State after completing their 21-day orientation course in the state.
At the closing ceremony held at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp at Government College, Kaduna on Tuesday, Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, congratulated the corps members on their successful orientation.
“I urge you to accept your posting in good faith, settle down quickly, and respect the customs and traditions of your host communities,” he said.
Represented by the state Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salizu, the governor emphasised the importance of dedication, professionalism, and a spirit of service as they begin their primary assignments.
He assured the corps members that the State Government was committed to providing necessary support to ensure a productive and rewarding service year in the state.
“Your role is crucial in promoting national unity and development. I assure you that the state government is committed to providing necessary support to ensure a productive and rewarding service year,” the Governor added.
Speaking earlier, NYSC Kaduna State Coordinator, Hassan Mahmud Taura, had commended the corps members for their exceptional performance during the orientation course.
“I encourage you to engage in Community Development Service projects that positively impact your host communities and build on the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development training you received,” Taura said.
Taura also reminded the corps members to shun social vices such as corruption, nepotism, tribalism, and religious bigotry.
“Your service is not just about personal growth, but also about contributing to the development of our great nation,” Taura emphasised.
NewsNGR reports that the corps members will now embark on the next phase of their journey, serving the state and nation through their primary assignments, community development services, and ultimately, the passing out parade in about 10 months.
