Hip-hop maestro Pharrell Williams has sharply criticized American celebrities for publicly backing political candidates as the presidential election approaches.
Williams, who identifies as apolitical, expressed frustration with his peersโ political endorsements. โI donโt do politics. In fact, I get annoyed sometimes when I see celebrities trying to tell you (who to vote for),โ he shared during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
He further commented on the unsolicited nature of many celebrity endorsements.
โThere are celebrities that I respect that have an opinion, but not all of them. Iโm one of them people (who says), โWhat the heck? Shut up. Nobody asked youโ,โ he added.
Notably, American stars like Taylor Swift, Megan Thee Stallion, and Billie Eilish have publicly thrown their weight behind Vice President Kamala Harris, while former President Donald Trump has garnered support from figures like Elon Musk and Blac Chyna.
