The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has begun to engage critical stakeholders on the Amendment to Draft Regulations in line with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021 (PIA).
The consultation is a two-day event from September 17-18, 2024, and is expected to allow meaningful contributions from the stakeholders, according to the commission.
Section 216 (1) of the PIA 2021 requires the commission to consult with stakeholders before finalising or amendments to regulations.
