The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has ordered investigations into the murder of three persons at Isionye land, a boundary between Enugu Ukwu and Nwafia in Anambra State.
The incident, which occurred on Monday, also left five others seriously injured.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, preliminary information revealed that the victims were lured by some individuals through a phone call to the land in the guise of a land transaction, where they were subsequently attacked with guns and machetes.
Meanwhile, CP Itam has sued for calm to avoid further calamities. It was gathered that police operatives had recovered the abandoned Sienna vehicle used by the murderers.
The PPRO stated that, “The testimonies of the injured victims who are currently receiving treatment in the hospital are aiding the investigation while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue.”
