The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has revealed the identities of the officers who were slain in an attack by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shi’ites.
On August 23, 2024, NewsNGR reported that the officers stationed at Wuse Market Junction were attacked and killed.
A clash between members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria and men of the Nigeria Police Force left no fewer than three dead, NewsNGR had learnt.
The victims include a trader and two officers of the FCT Police command.
The deceased officers, according to SP Josephine Adeh of the FCT Police Command, are ASP Innocent Agabi and Inspector Alexander Odey.
Three more officers were injured and rendered unconscious as a result of the incident.
SP Adeh in a statement expressed condolences to the families of the slain policemen, recognizing their role as breadwinners and the great sadness their families are experiencing.
“As breadwinners for their families, one can only imagine the deep sorrow their loved ones are experiencing now,” the statement read.
