Her death was confirmed by Ilorin-based cleric, Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh, in a post on his official Facebook page on Tuesday morning.
Jubril Gawat, media aide to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, also shared the news with a somber message on X (formerly Twitter), quoting the Quran, “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return. Q 2 V 156.”
Rukayat was widely celebrated for her melodious voice, which touched many in the Muslim community.
