Shettima Pledges 50 Truckloads Of Rice To Maiduguri Flood Victims – Independent Newspaper Nigeria
LAGOS – Shettima, the Vice-President, paid a visit to Maiduguri on Tuesday to show solidarity with the people of Borno following the Alau dam flood tragedy, which led to the displacement of numerous individuals.
Mr. Kashim, heading a federal government team, visited the troubled city and was welcomed by Governor Babagana Zulum.
Together, they proceeded to the Shehu of Borno’s palace, which was also affected by the flood. From there, the vice-president proceeded to Bakassi camp, where numerous flood-displaced individuals sought shelter.

Mr. Shettima assured the distressed victims of government assistance with 50 rice trucks.
He also mentioned plans for cooperation with the North-East Development Commission and other agencies to limit their stay at the camp to no more than two weeks.
On Tuesday, residents of Maiduguri were greeted by catastrophic floods that engulfed numerous structures, roads, and bridges.
