Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, fondly called Tems, has finally responded to swirling rumors that she was expecting a child with American rapper Future.
Speculation first arose when Tems attended Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 show at London Fashion Week last December.
Her striking appearance in a form-fitting black dress, paired with a purple fluffy coat and matching heels, led many to believe she was hiding a baby bump.
However, during a recent appearance on ‘The Breakfast Club,’ Tems laughed off the claims and questioned why Future was singled out.
“Why not Wizkid or Drake?” she teased, poking fun at the wild speculation.
“People just take the most controversial things. Because I was thinking like, why am I pregnant for Future? Why Future? Because that’s the craziest,” she said.
“Why not Wizkid? Why not Drake? Why not somebody else? If it was Drake, it would be the same thing but the reason why it is Future is because of his reputation.
“He has about five kids. And has a reputation of being a ladies’ man.”
The amazing singer shared the rap artists who have had a major influence on her, citing Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ab-Soul, Andre 3000, and J. Cole as key inspirations.
Recall that she collaborated with Drake on his 2021 album, Certified Lover Boy.
This year, J. Cole, one of just two guest artists, made an appearance on her debut album, Born In The Wild.
