A woman, identified simply as Ifeoma, died briefly after collapsing while sharing testimony at the Ministry Church in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State.
According to reports, the incident happened around 8:48am during church service on Sunday.
The 55-year-old had reportedly gone to the front of the altar, singing songs of gratitude in preparation to give testimony. However, she was said to have collapsed suddenly. The woman was rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead.
The incident was confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Wednesday.
โThe Zonal accountant of the church in Ejigbo came to the station and reported that during the testimony hour in the church, while the service was on, Ifeoma came out singing songs to give her testimony when she suddenly slumped.
โShe was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital but was referred to the General Hospital in Isolo, where she was confirmed dead.
โBased on the report, detectives were detailed to visit the hospital with the complainant. On getting there, they were told that the husband and family of the deceased had taken the corpse to Anambra State, where she came from for burial,โ Punch quoted Hundeyin as saying.
The exact cause of the womanโs sudden death is still unknown.
