Nigerian film icon Emmanuel France has been confirmed dead. The news of his passing was announced by fellow actor and colleague, Femi Ogedengbe, via his Instagram page on Monday.
France, believed to be in his 80s, was widely celebrated for his roles in notable Nollywood classics, including ‘Cross My Sin’, ‘She Is My Sister’, and ‘The Director’.
His impactful performances over the years have left a lasting mark on the Nigerian film industry.
“Rest in peace to one of Nollywood’s legends, Uncle Emmanuel France,” Ogedengbe wrote. “One of the actors I took to Tanzania in 2006. We shot three movies together: ‘Cross My Sin’, ‘She Is My Sister’, and ‘The Director’. R.I.P.”
