Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have apprehended three individuals suspected of collaborating with terrorist elements in Taraba State.
This was disclosed by Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, in a statement on Friday from Jalingo.
According to Oni, the arrests followed an intelligence-led operation carried out on October 15 in Landey Jessy village, Lau Local Government Area.
โThe success was achieved by acting on intelligence reports of some bandits in the Kona Range of Mountains, which cut across Jalingo and Lau Local Government,โ Oni said.
He added that the operation resulted in the arrest of three suspected collaborators.
During interrogation, one suspect admitted that his home had been used to hide weapons after attacks. Another was identified by a victim of an attempted kidnapping in Iware, Ardo-Kola Local Government, in September.
Oni confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody undergoing further investigation.
He reiterated the Nigerian Armyโs commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and the countryโs territorial integrity.
โWe urge the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies as we work together to rid the country of terrorism and other forms of insecurity,โ Oni said.
