Bayern Munich defender Kim Min Jae has announced his divorce from wife Ahn Ji Min, ending their four-year marriage, Soccernet.football reports.
The South Korean international, who joined Bayern in 2023 from Napoli, confirmed the separation through his agency, Orange Ball via Korea Times, explaining that the couple made the mutual decision to part ways due to “differences in personality.”
Despite the split, both Kim and Ahn remain committed to co-parenting their child, emphasizing that they will “prioritize their child and do their utmost” in this new phase of their lives.
In his statement, Kim Min Jae expressed his gratitude for fans’ support and acknowledged the cultural significance of keeping them informed.
“After careful consideration, Kim Min Jae has decided to end his marriage and has amicably completed the divorce process,” the statement read.
“The two made the decision to divorce due to differences in personality and will continue to support each other as they go their separate ways. As parents, they will prioritize their child and do their utmost.”
The 28-year-old, who has already played 12 games for Bayern this season, also apologized to his supporters for what he called “unfortunate news.”

Kim affirmed that his dedication to his career remains unwavering, stating, “As always, he remains committed to giving his best on the field.”
