BREAKING: Northern States Erupt in Celebration as Power is Restored

Electricity has been successfully restored in some northern states under the Jos Electricity Distribution Company’s (JEDC) franchise—Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, and Benue—following a 10-day blackout.

Power was reinstated at approximately 7:20 pm on Wednesday, sparking celebrations in parts of the affected regions, particularly in Jos, the capital of Plateau State.

The prolonged outage, which began due to the tripping of the 330kV transmission line connecting Benue and Enugu states, had plunged several states into darkness, causing disruptions in both daily life and business activities.

Residents of the affected states expressed frustration over the blackout, citing its negative impact on economic activities and personal inconveniences.

The restoration of power has been welcomed with relief, as businesses and households across the four states begin to return to normal operations.
