The newly appointed Minister of State for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mr. John Owan Enoh, haa said he targets achieving industrial growth for the country.
The former Sports Minister plans to achieve growth by providing strategic leadership and policy direction.
The minister made the disclosure during his first day in his new office.
โThe higher the industryโs contribution to our GDP and employment statistics, the better our country will perform,โ said Enoh.
The minister explained that President Bola Ahmed Tinubuโs reassigned him to the ministry because of the importance of industry in driving economic development.
โUntil we achieve significant industrial growth, we may never fully industrialize,โ the minister added.
Reacting to his resumption, Ambassador Nura Abba Rimi, said his appointment was a strategic decision.
Rimi highlighted the ministryโs challenges, such as funding shortages, inadequate office space, security concerns, and power supply issues.
He expressed confidence in the new ministerโs ability to steer the ministry toward industrial revitalisation.
Rimi called on the ministryโs management and staff to work together, using their combined expertise to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
He stressed the importance of a united effort to overcome challenges and achieve the ministryโs objectives.
