The tournament will now be held annually, with the first edition in Morocco taking place from October 17 to November 8, 2025.
The announcement was made by FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Tuesday, during the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) 46th General Assembly in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Morocco, a country with a growing football profile, previously hosted the FIFA Club World Cup in 2013, 2014, and 2022.
“I thank Morocco for hosting the next five editions of this women’s competition,” Infantino said, acknowledging the country’s commitment to promoting women’s football in Africa.
He praised Morocco’s efforts in advancing women’s sports and expressed hope that the tournament would inspire young female athletes across the continent.
Infantino also underscored the importance of youth football in Africa, stating, “Creating opportunities to further develop the sport on the continent is essential for its growth.”
To prepare for the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, Morocco is undertaking major upgrades to its sporting infrastructure.
Renovations are planned for stadiums in cities including Marrakech, Agadir, Fez, Rabat, Casablanca, and Tangier. In addition, a new 115,000-seat stadium is being constructed in Benslimane.
Morocco’s packed football calendar includes hosting the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations from July 5 to 26, 2025, followed by the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, and the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
Morocco will also co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
