American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez recently opened up about her tumultuous second breakup with ex-husband Ben Affleck.
The singer filed for divorce just two years into their rekindled marriage, following their initial split back in 2004.
The couple’s separation in April led to Lopez officially filing for divorce on the 20th of August coincidentally marking what would have been their second wedding anniversary.
In a candid interview for the latest issue of Interview Magazine, Lopez shared that the divorce nearly “took her out for good,” but emphasized she has no regrets about marrying Affleck.
The 55-year-old singer shared that she has no regrets: “Not one second. That doesn’t mean it didn’t almost take me out for good. It almost did.
“But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, ‘Fuck, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, god. I’m sorry it took me so long. I’m sorry that you had to do this to me so many times.
“I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it. You had to hit me hard over the head with a fucking sledgehammer. You dropped the house on me. Don’t have to do it again.’”
