ARMED bandits on Saturday, abducted the district head of Kanya, located in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The district head, Isah Daya, was taken when the bandits raided his village.
During the attack, one person, identified as Sherrif Alhaji Almu, was killed, three were injured, and eight others were also kidnapped.
The state’s police spokesperson, Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the incident and reported that a combined security force, led by the police, has begun a manhunt to rescue the kidnapped individuals.
He added that the Kebbi State Government has provided the necessary resources to combat banditry in affected areas, especially in Kebbi South and the Zuru Emirate.
This attack occurred just days after bandits killed the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Suru Local Government Area of the state.
