Galatasaray secured a dominant 3-0 away victory against Antalyaspor, with Mauro Icardi delivering a stellar performance by scoring twice.
The Argentine forward’s brace, along with a stoppage-time strike from Victor Osimhen, who had a previous goal disallowed, wrapped up an important win for the visitors.
Icardi opened the scoring in the 10th minute, capitalizing on a defensive error to fire Galatasaray into the lead. His second came early in the second half, with a well-taken finish in the 52nd minute, as Galatasaray maintained control throughout the match.
Victor Osimhen, introduced in the second half, had a rollercoaster of an evening. The Nigerian striker thought he had reduced the deficit in the 75th minute, but his effort was ruled out for offside after a lengthy VAR review. Undeterred Osimhen eventually found the back of the net in the 90+2 minute, only for the linesman to raise his flag again, keeping the final score at 3-0.
Galatasaray’s dominant display keeps them on track in their campaign, with Icardi’s form once again proving to be a key factor in their success this season.
Antalyaspor, meanwhile, will look to regroup as they search for consistency in the league.
