The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has bagged the best Best Federal Ministry, Department and Agency (MDA) in Digital Transformation.
The NUPRC bagged the award for introducing digital innovation in its operations.
The award was presented to the upstream regulator at the Nigerian Govtech Conference 2024, organised by the Bureau for Public Service Reform.
The theme of the event was, โDigital Innovations as Catalysts for the Renewed Hope Agenda.โ
The Bureau described the commissionโs efforts in digitising it operations as commendable.
The Commissionโs Chief Executive (CCE), Engr Gbega Komolafe who received the award was optimistic that the commission will keep introducing digital innovation across its operations.
According to a statement from the NUPRC, the CCE was represented at the event by Mrs. Olaide Shaw, the Director of Exploration and Acreage Management and Osagie Imansuen, Head of ICT.
Mrs. Shaw who received the award further highlighted NUPRCโs commitment to leveraging digital solutions in the oil and has sector.
NewsNGR reported that the NUPRC has begun exploring the use of cutting-edge technological solutions that could support it in achieving its regulatory mandate under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).
As part of the move, NUPRC made a strategic visit of senior staff to the headquarters of Infosys in Bengaluru, India which was led by the Commissionโs Chief Executive.
NUPRC described the collaboration with Infosys as a โsignificant step towards fostering digital transformation in Nigeriaโs upstream petroleum industry.โ
