The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially kicked off its governorship campaign for the November 16, 2024 election in Ondo State.
Key members of the PDP’s National Working Committee, along with prominent party leaders, arrived in Akure on Monday to demonstrate support for the party’s candidate, Agboola Ajayi.
Ajayi, a former deputy governor of the state, is expected to capitalize on this momentum to strengthen his connection with voters. His campaign emphasizes leadership experience, economic vision, and strong grassroots backing, which the party believes make him the ideal candidate for the governorship.
Among the party leaders present were Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who also serves as Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, and Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State and Chairman of the PDP National Campaign Council for Ondo State. Both governors arrived in Akure to spearhead the campaign flag-off and express their unwavering support for Ajayi.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State was also in attendance, adding his voice to the growing list of PDP leaders united behind Ajayi’s candidacy.
Governor Makinde’s presence is seen as a symbol of the party’s solidarity and determination to secure victory in the upcoming election.
